Kansas musicians Shawn and Megan approached me about doing their CD package for ‘Artist of the Beautiful’ after a bad experience with a CD manufacturer in-house design department. Pulling together the photography they shot, I turned away from the ‘artist-on-the-front-cover’ concept that the manufacturer's designer wanted to use, instead using a rather intriguing and iconic shot that they hadn’t considered for the front cover. Some snappy color combinations and hand written text later, we had a winning layout.
