‘WHATEVER HAPPENED TO ROCK ‘N’ ROLL’ POSTER

Probably one of the only pieces from college that I would not cringe to show nowadays. This poster was created for an independent serigraphy class my senior year in which we explored a theme through a series of prints. My theme for the semester was my influences as an artist, about to head out into the world to make my mark. This was my “Music” print, sized 11x14. Inspired in part by the name of a song by the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, this was my question to the state of music circa 2000-2001, in the heat of teen pop and manufactured bands. Where were the authentic musicians who left their blood and sweat on the stage? Ten years later, it still seems to hold resonance.
